The Hamdard organization was founded by late Hakeem
Majeed Saheb as far as back as 1906. The credit for
developing the Hamdard Dawakhana according to his dreams
and even beyond goes to his illustrious son, Late Janab
Hakeem Abdul Hameed. Impelled by seer's vision and assisted
by a determination that recoginises no hurdle, he utilized
the nucleus he had inherited, for modernizing the UNANI
system of medicine and pharmacy. He used his influence
to persuade the authorities to open up a country-wide
network of colleges imparting education in the Unani
system.
Hamdard Wakf Dawakhana that had grown phenomenally
over the years was now in a position to support education
and research activities which were so dear to the great
visionary.
Hamdard National Foundation was established towards
this end. It became the channel for developmental assisted
by Hamdard wakf Dawakhana to a number of Institutions
created for educational and research purposes; the most
important of these were the Jamia Hamdard and the Hamdard
Education Society (HES). The Society is conducting diverse
educational activities and running a number of institutions
of whom the most prominent are Hamdard Study Circle,
Hamdard Public school, and Hamdard Coaching Centre,
all located in the well laid out Talimabad Complex.
The Hamdard Public School has the necessary facilities
for high quality education in a congenial environment.
The School's vision goes beyond the achievement of
academic excellence. It aims at all-round development
of personality. Improvement of morals and manners is
achieved through personal and meticulous care. The school
inculcates assiduously the habits of regularity, cleanliness,
punctuality and orderliness. The students are groomed
to provide leadership in various spheres of life to
their Community and their Country.
The School is a co-education English Medium school
recognized by the Department of Education, Delhi and
is following the NCERT syllabus. It is also affiliated
to the Central Board of Secondary education, (CBSE)
Delhi and prepares students for both All India secondary
School Examination (AISSE) as well as the All India
Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE).
